Support the Groomer guy Blog and videos

If you enjoy my blog, my videos, my facebook page, my articles and stories you can help me out by helping get new video equipment for shooting my videos. Making videos is a long and expensive hobby. I recently bought my first Gopro camera and now I need some accessories to go with it. I need camera mounts, Chargers, batteries and lot's of batteries as the cold eats them up fast. I need a microphone, cleaning supplies and more. Later on I would like to get additional cameras so I can have different camera angles.

If you are interested in helping you can email me at luclevesque@Hotmail.com and I can send you a list of equipment I need. I will forward my mailing address.

You can go to my Amazon Wish List and see What I currently need. Click on the link to go to the website. http://www.amazon.ca/gp/registry/wishlist/ref=nav__gno_listpop_wi?ie=UTF8&requiresSignIn=1

Grooming, the good and the bad.

Went out grooming last night but never made it back with the groomer, our groomers are conversion tractors that use a "Ram Steer" system to make the groomer turn, the drag is fitted with 2 Hydraulic cylinders that push and pull, As one pushes the other pulls, so the drag makes the groomer turn., that's why when a farm tractor grooms a trail and in a curve you see a small snowbank that the drag pushing the groomer around the sharp corner, this is worst when the "Skags" 3 metal bars on the pan are worn out, it cause the drag to slide. Sometime the groomer operator will have the pan set wrong and the skags don't have a good contact with the trail and that makes the drag slide and cause a snowbank, this happens when you are making the trail wider on your way back.

Last night the set screw that holds the cylinder rod on too the adaptor that connects it to the hitch came loose, I lost the steering on the groomer, I could not turn anymore.   I ended up parking the groomer for the night, took some pictures and we will be back to fix it. today or tomorrow.   This week was going great the trails are groomed to perfection, the weather was  splendid and snow is in the forecast.   Hope the rest of the week is better.

  1. Is the housing that has the set screw in it thick enough to have 2 set screws end to end? The second one acts as a jammer for the first screw. I trust this over Loctite.
